One Million Face Masks For Rural Communities Project
With the current pandemic ravaging through the world, governments and local communities are seeking to create more awareness about COVID-19 and what citizens can do to keep themselves safe during this period. Social distancing, wearing of face masks and frequent hand washing have all become more prominent in our societies today to keep everyone safe and fight back the disease.
As you know, one of the safety precautions against this disease is the wearing of face masks. However, this safety gear can be a luxury for some, especially for people living in rural communities. This makes them vulnerable to this disease and could potentially impact the health conditions of those living within these communities negatively.
86% of Ghanaian workers operate in the informal sector and some of these people have lost their source of income because of the lockdown measures taken by the government against COVID-19
To ensure that those living in rural communities can keep themselves safe during this period, we are embarking on a 1 MILLION FACE MASKS FOR RURAL COMMUNITIES PROJECT which will involve the production and distribution of quality face masks to rural communities. The production of the face masks will be handled by the FCA Garment Factory which is reputable for producing quality clothing materials including face masks.
The success of this campaign would be immensely beneficial to the Ghanian populace. 86% of Ghanaian workers operate in the informal sector and some of these people have lost their source of income because of the lockdown measures taken by the government against COVID-19. Through this project, more people will be engaged to help produce and distribute the facemasks. This will ensure that they have a source of income for a period of time and are empowered to provide for their ends meet.
We ask that you join us on this mission either as a donor, or a volunteer and together, we can help safeguard people’s lives. You can reach out to us at info@fashionconnectafrica.com if you want to be a partner in this project. You can also contact us via the same email if you know any community where people cannot afford these facemasks and you would like us to reach out to them.
